Receive the Lesson

I’ve been on a five-year journey in a relationship, and I have learned some valuable lessons. One thing God keeps placing in my spirit is that sometimes a lesson comes before the blessing. People in the world might call it a counterfeit before the real thing. But for me, it’s not about a fake version. It’s about God preparing me. Preparing me, not because I lacked anything, but because life can knock us off course. Sometimes He allows a lesson to refocus us. The lesson itself can be the blessing, and then the promise follows.

Today, while grieving the close of that relationship, a prayer on Facebook met me right where I was and it was a beautiful reminder of God’s promise to me. Don’t take hard things for granted. There’s so much to gain from them. Don’t let shame and disappointment rob you of the development God is doing in you. Receive the lesson, because it may be setting the table for all that He’s promised.

Many blessings,

Minister T
